Are you planning a new playground or replacing an older one? We help schools, parks, churches, HOAs, childcare centers and communities across the Midwest bring the whole project together, from planning and equipment to surfacing and professional installation.
With 35+ years of playground experience, we know every site comes with different questions. We’re here to help you work through them and keep your project moving.
For a commercial playground installation to go smoothly, the equipment, layout, anchoring and surfacing all need to work with the site.
Recreation Installations helps schools, parks, churches, HOAs, childcare centers and municipalities understand those details before installation begins and throughout the project. We keep the process straightforward, answer questions along the way and make sure you know what is included, what needs to be ready and what may need to be handled by another contractor.
We help you review the parts of the playground project that affect installation so you have a clearer picture of what needs to be ready before work begins.
We review plans, measurements, photos, access and visible site conditions as they relate to playground installation. We can also provide the specifications your site contractor will need for grading, drainage and other site-preparation work.
We review the available space, equipment layout, required use zones and accessibility as part of the overall playground plan. This helps us identify installation questions early and explain what needs to be ready.
Explore Commercial Playground Equipment →Our experienced installers assemble, place and secure commercial playground equipment based on the manufacturer's requirements and your project plan.
We install engineered wood fiber, poured-in-place rubber and rubber mulch surfacing. We also look at how the surfacing works with the equipment layout, accessibility needs and overall playground plan.

When you work with Recreation Installations, you work directly with Steve and Candra throughout the project rather than being passed from one department to another.
Steve has worked in the commercial playground equipment industry since 1991, and Candra has worked in the industry since 2001. That hands-on experience helps us identify potential installation concerns early, explain what needs to be ready and prevent surprises whenever possible.
We also look at the full playground plan, not just the equipment. We review the available space, equipment layout, required use zones, surfacing requirements, accessibility, delivery logistics and installation access.
Then we clearly explain what is included in our proposal and what you will need to coordinate separately.

Before scheduling installation, we explain what is included in our proposal, what needs to be ready and what you may need to coordinate with a landscaper, excavation contractor, engineer or general contractor.
Once the equipment and project details are confirmed and the site is ready, we coordinate delivery and installation based on the project plan and the work included in your quote.
If your organization uses purchase orders or formal purchasing procedures, you can also review our commercial playground purchasing process .
You do not need to have every detail figured out before you contact us. Tell us about the space, the equipment you are considering and what you hope to build.
We can help you understand the installation requirements, what needs to be ready and what the next step should be.
Discuss Your Playground ProjectWhat will installation add to your playground budget? Every project is different, so the cost depends on the equipment, site conditions, surfacing and the amount of installation work involved.
A smaller playground on a ready-to-go site differs greatly from a large school or city project with multiple structures and surfacing. Equipment size, site access, foundations and surfacing can all change the amount of installation work involved.
If grading, drainage or other site preparation is needed, the appropriate contractor should evaluate and complete that work separately.
We review installation requirements as part of the full playground plan so you understand what our proposal includes and what you may need to budget for separately.
Read Our Playground Installation Cost Guide →Great playground equipment still needs the right layout, anchoring and surfacing to work the way it should.
We plan the installation around the equipment, the approved layout and the manufacturer's requirements. Applicable CPSC guidance, ASTM standards and ADA accessibility requirements also help guide decisions about spacing, surfacing and access where they apply.
